Kisoo Kwon
1972년 경북 영주에서 출생한 권기수는 홍익대학교 미술대학과 동 대학원 동양화과를 졸업하였다. 전통 수묵화 형식을 따르기 보다 자신만의 방식으로 해석하여 1999년~2002년 장지에 수묵으로 ‘동구리’라는 기호화된 인격체를 탄생시켰다.
2003년 이스라엘 Jerusalem Center for Visual Arts의 레지던스에 초대된 것을 시작으로 2008년에는 iGoogle 아티스트 프로젝트에 선정되었다. 2015년, 미국에서 가장 권위 있는 장학재단 중 하나인 풀브라이트 장학 프로그램에 선정되어 미국 Concordia College에서 방문 교수를 역임하였다.
국립현대미술관, 서울시립미술관, 경기도립미술관, 제주현대미술관 등 국내 대표 미술관과 상하이 Long Museum, 샌프란시스코 Asian Art Museum 등 해외 주요 미술관에도 작품이 소장되어 있다.
베니스 비엔날레, 오스트리아 Asia-Pacific 트리엔날레, 상하이 MOCA, 일본 MORI ART Museum, 런던 Saatchi Gallery, 뉴욕 MAD 미술관, 뉴욕 UN 본부, MOCA 타이페이 등 다양한 곳에서 국제 전시를 참여하며 활발히 활동 하고 있다.

Kwon Ki-soo, born in Yeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do in 1972, graduated from Hongik University with a bachelor's and master's degree in Oriental Painting.
Instead of conforming with the traditional ink painting style, he interpreted it in his own way and created a symbolized personality called ‘Dongguri’ in ink on Hanji from 1999 to 2002.
In 2003, he was invited to the residence of Jerusalem Center for Visual Arts, Israel, and was selected for the iGoogle Artist Project in 2008.
In 2015, he was awarded with the Fulbright Scholarship Program, one of the most prestigious scholarship foundations in the United States and served as a visiting professor at Concordia College.
His works are also housed in major domestic art museums such as the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul Museum of Art, Gyeonggi Museum of Modern Art, and Jeju Museum of Contemporary Art, as well as major overseas art museums such as Long Museum in Shanghai and Asian Art Museum in San Francisco.
He continues to participate in international exhibitions at various places including Venice Biennale, Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art in Australia, MoCA Shanghai, MORI ART Museum in Japan, Saatchi Gallery in London, Museum of Arts and Design in New York, United Nations in New York, MoCA Taipei etc.
